Luka Dončić has been turned into a MetaHuman and is remarkably realistic!
Luka Dončić launched a virtual alter-ego metahuman on TikTok that will interact with users and develop based on community feedback on the platform. The player believes it will help engage his fanbase better and create chances to improve the work of his foundation.
Luka Dončić is making a virtual step to better engage with NBA fans with a launch of a virtual equivalent of himself. The Slovenian superstar introduced Luk.AI, a virtual alter-ego metahuman, which will now take over Luka’s TikTok account.
Dončić said in a news release: “I thought it would be fun to turn myself into an AI and invite my fans to help me train him. He will explore many of my favorite interests outside of basketball, build new connections with fans and creators, and help me with my mission of bringing more play to the world. I’m very excited to see what happens with this new kind of entertainment. Fans can get to know him and help to make him smarter by engaging with him. He’ll reply to their comments, listen to their ideas and create videos with them, too.”
The metahuman was constructed using Epic’s Unreal Engine 5 MetaHuman framework and then augmented with neural network technologies trained with real-world facial animations from Luka’s performance capture.
The company describes Luk.AI as a self-learning artificial intelligence capable of emotional, physical, and technological growth that will become smarter and grow by interacting with the TikTok community.
The social media platform users will influence the metahuman’s skills, interests, and hobbies. Luk.AI is set to explore various aspects of Dončić’s life outside the basketball court, including trick shots, cars, gaming, music, and fashion.
Luka is the first NBA player to utilize this technology. The project will also help further the Luka Dončić Foundation, which is focused on the positive power of play for kids, and work with the Mark Cuban Foundation AI Bootcamps to help teach kids about AI technology.
